extracts from article by Jack SempleGW Sissons & Son, an 80 truck haulier based in
Sherburn-in-Elmet, Yorkshire, has ordered 22 new 6x2 tractors with Cummins ISM
380 engines from Seddon. He says he stuck with Seddon because it is reliable,
the Cummings Miis it operates perform exceptionally well, and the dealer,
Knottingley Commercials, "is outstanding. It saves us a lot of
headaches", he says. The trucks are to be delivered in April with a
three-year warranty and maintenance deal, and a buy-back price guaranteed.
Knottingley has been downloading the Cumrnins Road-Relay system monthly for
Sissons; but that task will be taken in-house, and the new trucks will be
equipped with Cummins' remote downloading software. The new trucks will also be
Sissons' first 6x2s, and will join at a time of expansion of the firm's
warehousing capacity. GW Sissons has an all Seddon Atkinson 4x2 fleet. It Will
download engine date remotely.
